In a significant development for Sindh’s economy, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah hosted Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Joint Business Council, along with a 30-member high-level business delegation at the CM House.

During the meeting, two important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed focusing on the sale and purchase of K-Electric shares and investment in the energy sector.

The first MoU pertains to the sale and purchase of shares in KES Power Limited, while the second MoU was signed between K-Electric Limited and Trident Energy Limited to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in the energy sector. These agreements reflect the growing confidence of international investors in Pakistan’s energy sector and the commitment to improving power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to long-term economic cooperation and invited Saudi investors to invest in key sectors including agriculture, livestock, minerals, energy, infrastructure, and food security. He highlighted that Sindh was the first province in Pakistan to successfully complete multiple projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud praised the hospitality of the Sindh government and acknowledged the vast investment opportunities in Karachi and across Sindh. He noted that the Saudi Business Council has a long history of bilateral trade with Pakistan and said this visit will give new momentum to economic ties between the two countries. He further added that Saudi investors view Pakistan’s privatization drive as a promising investment opportunity.
