Second US Crude Oil Tanker Enters Pakistani Waters After Two Weeks

The second US crude oil tanker has entered Pakistan’s territorial waters within two weeks, marking another major step in the recently initiated oil trade between the two countries.

The American oil carrier MT Albany is scheduled to berth at Synergo’s oil terminal on Monday evening. MT Albany is the second large US crude oil vessel to arrive at Pakistani ports.

Synergo has imported two cargoes of 1 million barrels each of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for the first time in Pakistan’s history.

Following the trade agreement between Pakistan and the United States, the official import of US crude oil has now begun. Synergo Oil Company has brought the American tanker to its oil terminal located in Balochistan.

Earlier, on October 29, the first American cargo, MT Pegasus, arrived in Pakistan. The Pegasus departed from Houston on September 14 carrying US crude oil and anchored at Synergo’s offshore terminal on October 29.

After the major trade agreement between Islamabad and Washington, Synergo has taken the initiative to boost bilateral trade through the historic import of US crude oil.
