US Emerging as Key Economic Partner for Pakistan: Riaz Panel Discussion

During a Climate Adaptation and Resilience panel discussion in Riyadh, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that the United States is re-emerging as a key economic partner for Pakistan. A recent example of this is the $7 billion financial closure of the Reko Diq project, in which the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the US Exim Bank participated.

The panel discussion, titled “Climate Adaptation and Resilience: How Do We Ensure the Required Investment?”, was attended by several global financial leaders, including Zina Toukan, Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Fayzuddin Qaherdza, Tajikistan’s Finance Minister, and Serge Ekue, President of the West African Development Bank.
