According to reports, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has surpassed Elon Musk’s company Tesla in sales.
Sources say that during 2025, BYD sold more than 2.25 million electric vehicles, while the U.S. company Tesla sold approximately 1.6 million battery-powered vehicles last year.
Reports indicate that Tesla faced criticism and pressure due to Elon Musk’s political activities, while strong competition from Chinese rival BYD also affected the company’s sales.
BYD is one of the world’s major electric vehicle companies, producing not only electric cars but also battery technology, buses, and advanced energy solutions. With its lower prices, advanced battery systems, and strong production capacity, the company is rapidly gaining a foothold in the global market, becoming a significant challenge for Tesla and other international competitors.
