Pakistani Passport Ranked 4th Worst in the World, Visa-Free Access Limited to 31 Countries

According to the global passport ranking, the Pakistani passport has once again been declared the fourth worst passport in the world.

Sources say that, according to the Henley Passport Index report, Pakistan’s passport has again been ranked among the weakest in the world, maintaining the fourth-worst position globally. The index, which evaluates 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa, has ranked Pakistan at 98th place. Pakistan shares this position with Yemen and has visa-free access to only 31 destinations.

Above Pakistan in the list are Iraq at 99th, Syria at 100th, and Afghanistan at 101st. Pakistan’s travel document (passport) has consistently remained near the bottom of this index since 2021. In 2025, it ranked 102nd out of 106 destinations; in both 2024 and 2023, it held the 100th position. Previously, in 2022, Pakistan was ranked 109th with visa-free access to 32 countries, and in 2021, it held the 107th position with the same level of visa-free access.

On the other hand, Singapore retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport, providing its citizens visa-free access to 192 countries. South Korea and Japan followed closely in second place, offering their citizens access to 188 destinations.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded the most long-term progress on the Henley Passport Index compared to any other country, climbing an extraordinary 57 positions over the past two decades to secure 5th place globally in 2026.
