According to sources, President Asif Ali Zardari met yesterday with Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group.
President Zardari appreciated AD Ports Group’s long term investment and its growing role in Pakistan’s maritime and logistics sectors, describing it as an important pillar of economic relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. He termed the group’s ongoing investment at Karachi Port as vital for enhancing the port’s capacity, efficiency, and regional competitiveness.
Both sides agreed that the expansion and modernization of port infrastructure would strengthen trade volumes and support Pakistan’s economic growth and maritime commerce.
President Zardari welcomed the establishment of AD Ports Group’s representative office in Islamabad and praised the group’s digital and customs initiatives aimed at improving trade facilitation.
Sources added that First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates were also present during the meeting.
