Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to operate its first direct flight from Islamabad International Airport to Manchester Airport on October 25, after a gap of five years.
Direct flights between Manchester and Islamabad can be booked through PIA’s website or booking partners, with fares starting from £633 (PKR 236,914).
Initially, four flights per week are expected to operate, while flights from Birmingham and London will be introduced in the next phase, depending on demand.
There have been no direct flights between Pakistan and airports north of London since 2020, which significantly increased travel time and personal costs for passengers.
This resumption was made possible after the UK removed PIA from its Air Safety List on July 16. According to a statement issued to Business Recorder, this decision was based on technical audits and a visible improvement in the airline’s air safety standards.
Comprehensive reviews of pilot licensing, aircraft maintenance, and safety arrangements indicate that the British aviation authorities are confident in PIA’s international flight safety standards.
