ICC Issues Statement on Pakistan-Bangladesh Cricket Talks, Confirms No Sanctions on BCB

The International Cricket Council has issued an official statement regarding the negotiations held between the Pakistan Cricket Board, the Bangladesh Cricket Board, and the ICC.

According to sources, the ICC stated in the communiqué that the talks held in Lahore concluded in a cordial atmosphere, during which the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the future of cricket in South Asia were discussed. The statement noted that the ICC expressed regret over Bangladesh’s non participation in the T20 World Cup and described the Bangladesh Cricket Board as a full member and an important pillar of global cricket.

The ICC assured that no ban or fine would be imposed on Bangladesh cricket and decided that no financial, administrative, or sporting sanctions would be applied. The statement further said that Bangladesh retains the right to approach the Dispute Resolution Committee.

According to sources, the ICC expressed full confidence in Bangladesh’s hosting capabilities and decided to award Bangladesh the hosting rights for an ICC event between 2028 and 2031, subject to standard procedures.

The statement also confirmed that the ICC, PCB, and BCB agreed on safeguarding the unity and integrity of cricket.
