The Pakistani rupee strengthened by 0.07% against the U.S. dollar in the interbank market on Monday.
During early morning trade, the rupee appreciated by 20 paise, reaching Rs. 280.52 per dollar.
Last week, the dollar had closed at Rs. 280.82, after a marginal decline of 10 paise.
In the international market, the U.S. dollar remained slightly firm on Monday as investors awaited a series of economic indicators set to be released following the end of the U.S. government shutdown.
Meanwhile, the British pound came under pressure amid growing speculation surrounding the U.K. government’s expected November 26 budget, contributing to cautious sentiment in currency markets.
