Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, while highlighting the attractive investment opportunities available in key sectors, urged leading European companies to take advantage of these prospects and invest in Pakistan.
Speaking at a dinner hosted at Pakistan House in honor of Members of the European Parliament, he stated that Pakistan attaches special importance to its multilateral and bilateral relations with the European Union and considers the EU a vital pillar for peace, stability, reconstruction, and development. Senator Ishaq Dar is currently on an official visit to Brussels, where he will participate in the Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum and co-chair the 7th Pakistan–European Union Strategic Dialogue alongside his counterpart, Kaja Kallas.
The dinner was attended by prominent members of the European Parliament, including the Chairman of the South Asia Delegation, the Vice Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, members of the International Trade Committee, the Security and Defence Committee, and coordinators from the Foreign Affairs Committee, along with several other notable European parliamentarians.
Also present were Foreign Secretary Aamirah Baloch, the EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Riimundas Karoblis, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the EU, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Rahim Hayat Qureshi.
The Deputy Prime Minister described the Pakistan–EU partnership as a reflection of regional peace and stability and emphasized that Pakistan seeks to further strengthen this cooperation in economic, political, trade, and other areas of mutual interest.
He stated that as the world’s fifth most populous country, with more than 60% of its population comprising youth, Pakistan is an emerging economy offering highly attractive opportunities for international investors.
Ishaq Dar further noted that the GSP Plus framework between Pakistan and the European Union has significantly boosted the volume of bilateral trade and investment.
