Pakistan & Türkiye Moving Toward Deeper Defense & High-Tech Collaboration

Amid the increasing global demand for modern defense capabilities, Pakistan and Türkiye are moving toward deeper cooperation in the defense and high-tech industries.

According to reports, a high-level Turkish delegation led by Ahmed Khan expressed strong interest in joint ventures, technology transfer, and establishing production facilities in Pakistan. Ahmed Khan is the Group CEO and Türkiye’s Honorary Investment Advisor in Pakistan. The delegation included senior professionals from Türkiye’s aviation, aircraft manufacturing, space engineering, drone technology, defense systems, automotive engineering, and advanced materials sectors. They met Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan in Islamabad.

The Turkish delegation briefed the Commerce Minister on Türkiye’s rapidly developing aviation and defense industries. They also discussed existing international partnerships and expressed readiness to expand them further through Pakistan.

Jam Kamal Khan welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its industrial and economic relations with Türkiye. He highlighted the long-standing excellent ties between the two nations and emphasized cooperation in the space industry, defense production, mineral resource development, and dual-use manufacturing—areas supported by Pakistan’s engineering base and rich mineral resources.

The Commerce Minister advised Turkish companies to view Pakistan as a strategic production and export partner for regional and global markets, including ASEAN, Africa, the Gulf, and South Asia. He also emphasized the importance of trilateral and multilateral partnerships, stressing that both countries should leverage each other’s strengths.

He briefed the delegation on Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives, such as the expansion of the new Karachi Expo Centre and enhanced coordination between the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Defence Production, and national technology institutions.

The Turkish delegation appreciated Pakistan’s strategic vision and expressed willingness for long-term cooperation in aviation, defense manufacturing, engineering, and advanced materials. They also showed interest in strengthening banking and trade facilities to support future collaboration.
