Karachi (Commerce Reporter) – Sardar Fahad Yaqoob Khan, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir on Trade, Industry, and Labour, stated that establishing industrial units in Azad Kashmir will facilitate access to products from Central Asian countries and promote bilateral trade. He added that there are vast opportunities in industry and trade, and the Azad Kashmir government is committed to providing every possible facility to investors coming from abroad and other regions.

He expressed these views while addressing industrialists at an event organized by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). The event was attended by KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput, Senior Vice President Zahid Hameed, Vice President Muhammad Talha Ali, former Chairman & President Gulzar Feroz, Junaid Naqi, Advisor Coordinator Sardar Babar Abbasi, Sardar Maqbool-ul-Zaman, spokesperson Hashim Abdali, and other KATI members.

Sardar Fahad Yaqoob Khan further emphasized that industrialists and traders play a key role in strengthening the economy. He noted that investment is being encouraged in industrial zones, energy, tourism, and hydropower sectors in Azad Kashmir. He stated that the government is promoting business activities through investor-friendly policies.

He highlighted that Azad Kashmir has six industrial zones, including Mirpur and Muzaffarabad, and the law and order situation is excellent. The property tax rate in Azad Kashmir is only 8%, which is very low compared to other parts of the country and attractive for investors. Low tax rates, abundant natural resources, and a peaceful environment make Azad Kashmir a promising business hub.

Sardar Fahad Yaqoob Khan added that the government is working on new policies to promote industry and trade, aiming to create employment opportunities and stabilize the economy. He invited KATI members to invest in Azad Kashmir and assured them of full support at all levels.

Earlier, KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput said that Sardar Fahad Yaqoob Khan has been entrusted with highly important departments, including trade, industry, and labour, which play a key role in Azad Kashmir’s economic development, employment growth, and industrial stability. He expressed satisfaction that Azad Kashmir’s leadership is promoting individuals with a clear vision for the economy, industry, and the welfare of the workforce.

Rajput further stated that KATI industrialists will soon visit Azad Kashmir to assess the business and investment opportunities. After the visit, concrete proposals and actionable plans will be formulated to strengthen trade activities between the two regions. He emphasized that facilitation, incentives, and policy support from the Azad Kashmir government are crucial in this regard.

Senior Vice President Zahid Hameed also addressed the event, thanking Sardar Fahad Yaqoob Khan and expressing hope that cooperation between industrial circles of Azad Kashmir and Karachi will be further strengthened.
