Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), has resigned from his position as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Blockchain and Crypto.
According to reports, Bilal Bin Saqib—who was appointed as Minister of State on 26 May 2025—stepped down from his position just a few months later. Sources familiar with the matter stated that his resignation was effective from 21 August 2025. It was formally acknowledged in a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on 13 October 2025, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accepted it. However, despite the notification being issued more than four months ago, the Cabinet Division neither released it to the media nor explained why it was kept confidential.
Despite stepping down from the role of Special Assistant, reports indicate that Bilal Bin Saqib will continue serving as Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority, an autonomous body established to oversee the country’s virtual assets sector.
