FBR Assures Petroleum Dealers Digital Invoicing Won’t Apply at Petrol Pumps

KARACHI: A top Federal Board of Revenue official has assured petroleum dealers that Digital Invoicing will not be implemented at petrol pumps for the sale of petroleum products, though Point of Sale systems will remain mandatory at shops operating within petrol pumps.

Muhammad Zubair, Member Operations (Inland Revenue) at the FBR, made the commitment during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, the association said in a statement.

The delegation included PPDA Chairman Malik Khuda Baksh, Vice Chairmen Tariq Hassan and Anwar Kamal, Sindh Region President Ameer Khan, Karachi Region President Saeed Khan and Shahzad Suriya.

During the meeting, the PPDA chairman explained that petroleum dealers operate as commission agents and requested clarification on whether Digital Invoicing applies to petrol pumps.

Zubair said the FBR will develop a separate digitization procedure for lubricants and that a designated FBR representative will coordinate with the PPDA to provide the necessary details and implementation guidelines.
