FBR Imposes 40% Regulatory Duty on Commercial Import of Used Vehicles

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed a 40% regulatory duty on the commercial import of old and used vehicles.

In this regard, the FBR issued SRO 1898(I)/2025 on Thursday.

This 40% regulatory duty will be in addition to the regulatory duty already imposed under SRO 1152(I)/2025.

The Ministry of Commerce had already issued an SRO allowing the commercial import of used cars.

According to the notification, using powers conferred under sub-section (3) of Section 18 of the Customs Act, 1969, the federal government is pleased to impose a 40% regulatory duty on the commercial import of old and used vehicles. These vehicles fall under PCT Headings 8702, 8703, 8704, and 8711 and are imported under clause (xvi) of serial number 10 of Table in Appendix-C of the Import Policy Order 2022, subject to the conditions specified therein.

The regulatory duty imposed under this notification will be in addition to the regulatory duty imposed under SRO 1152(I)/2025 dated June 30, 2025.
