Former Finance Minister and State Bank Governor, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, passed away at the age of 70.
Sources confirmed her sudden demise, stating that she was not suffering from any serious illness. According to reports, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar will be laid to rest on Sunday after the Zuhr prayer at Sultan Mosque in DHA, Karachi.
It is worth noting that Dr. Shamshad Akhtar served as the 14th Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan from 2006 to 2009 and was the first woman to hold this position.
