On Monday, prices of precious metals fell significantly in both global and local markets. As a result, the price of one tola of gold dropped below the 500,000 rupees mark, while the price of one tola of silver fell from the 9,000 rupees level to around 8,000 rupees. In the global bullion market, gold declined sharply by 215 dollars to 4,676 dollars per ounce.
Due to the strong fall in international gold prices, the local market also witnessed a major drop, with the price of one tola of gold plunging by 21,500 rupees to 490,362 rupees. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold fell by 18,433 rupees to 420,406 rupees.
It is worth noting that on Saturday, the price of one tola of gold had already recorded a historic drop of 25,500 rupees, closing at 511,862 rupees.
Meanwhile, the price of one tola of silver fell sharply by 601 rupees, dropping from the 9,000 rupees level to 8,405 rupees.
