On Friday, gold and silver prices saw a stunning surge in both global and local markets.
According to reports, in the global bullion market, gold rose sharply by 94 dollars to reach a record level of 4,923 dollars per ounce.
Due to the significant increase in international gold prices, the local market also witnessed a dramatic rise, with the price of gold per tola increasing by 9,100 rupees, reaching 515,662 rupees for the first time in the country’s history. Similarly, the price of ten grams of gold jumped by 7,802 rupees to 441,239 rupees. For context, on Thursday, the price of gold per tola had dropped by 800 rupees to 505,562 rupees.
Additionally, silver prices surged by 372 rupees per tola, crossing the 10,000-rupee mark for the first time in the country’s history, reaching 10,275 rupees.
