The continuous rise in gold and silver prices in global and local markets continued, with precious metals reaching record-high levels on Saturday.
In the global bullion market, gold surged by USD 23 to reach a record level of USD 4,533 per ounce.
The increase in international gold prices also impacted the local market, where the price of one tola of gold rose by PKR 2,300 to reach a record-high of PKR 475,662, the highest in the country’s history. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by PKR 1,972 to reach PKR 407,803. It is worth noting that on Friday, the price of one tola of gold had risen by PKR 500 to reach PKR 473,862, setting a previous record.
Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola increased by PKR 462, surpassing the PKR 8,000 mark for the first time in the country’s history, reaching PKR 8,407.
