Gold prices recorded the biggest single day jump in history on Wednesday, pushing the price of one tola to an all time high and crossing Rs 550,000 for the first time in the country’s history.
In the international bullion market, gold surged by a historic $211 to reach $5,293 per ounce. Following the sharp rise in global prices, the domestic market also saw a massive increase. The price of one tola of gold jumped by Rs 21,100 to hit a record Rs 551,662.
The price of 10 grams of gold also rose sharply, increasing by Rs 18,090 to reach Rs 472,961.
It is worth noting that on Tuesday, the price of one tola of gold had fallen by Rs 1,500 to Rs 530,562.
Meanwhile, silver prices also climbed significantly, with the price of one tola rising by Rs 271 to reach Rs 11,911.
