The government has announced a significant reduction in the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy, the price of petrol has been reduced by 10 rupees and 28 paisas per liter. After this reduction, the new price of petrol has become 253 rupees and 17 paisas per liter.
Similarly, approval has been given for a reduction of 8 rupees and 57 paisas per liter in the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD), bringing the new price of diesel to 257 rupees and 08 paisas per liter.
According to the announcement, the new prices of petroleum products will be effective from January 1, 2026, for the next 15 days.
The notification states that these prices have been determined after a review based on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). Previously, petrol was being sold at 263 rupees and 45 paisas per liter, while high-speed diesel was priced at 265 rupees and 65 paisas per liter.
It is worth noting that the prices of petroleum products are reviewed every fifteen days, taking into account fluctuations in global oil prices and the exchange rate.
