Government Introduces Reforms to Improve Pension Payments for Overseas Pakistani Retirees

The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) and the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR), has initiated several measures to improve the pension payment system for retired Pakistanis living abroad.

According to sources, the government is addressing long-standing issues related to pension disbursement, data integration, and logistical challenges to ensure that pensioners residing overseas receive their entitled benefits on time. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance is enhancing data integration between autonomous bodies and the AGPR system to further strengthen the administrative framework for pensions and the General Provident Fund (GPF). Strengthening this linkage will make the processing of pensions and GPF smoother, particularly for employees currently serving on deputation.
