K-Electric Postpones Annual General Meeting Amid Tariff Uncertainty

K-Electric Limited (KE) has postponed its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was scheduled to be held on November 11, 2025. The company made this decision due to the uncertainty arising from ongoing tariff-related proceedings before the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

In a statement issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, the company informed that its Board of Directors had approved the annual financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2024, in September.

However, in accordance with International Auditing Standards, the company’s auditors have sought clarification from the management regarding the potential financial implications of the pending NEPRA proceedings before issuing the final audit report.

NEPRA has held hearings on the review and reconsideration requests filed by the Ministry of Energy, K-Electric, and other parties. These requests relate to the generation, transmission, distribution, and power supply tariffs, as well as the right-off claim.

The statement noted that the decisions on these proceedings are still awaited.

According to K-Electric, given these extraordinary circumstances and considering that the situation is beyond the company’s control, it is not possible to accurately estimate or determine the outcomes of the NEPRA proceedings or their potential impact.

Therefore, the company stated that it is currently unable to issue the final audited financial statements.

The notice concluded that the Annual General Meeting, scheduled for November 11, 2025, for the approval of the annual financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2024, has been postponed until further notice.
