According to sources, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met Iran’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance, Dr Seyed Ali Madani Zadeh, on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies 2026.
Sources said the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. Both ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to increasing bilateral trade volume in line with the vision and directives of their respective national leaderships. They stressed the importance of continued engagement, trade facilitation, and removing existing barriers to achieve this goal.
During the discussion, the Iranian minister highlighted various sectoral opportunities related to investment and market cooperation aimed at deepening economic ties and achieving mutually beneficial outcomes. Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed these proposals. The Iranian minister invited Senator Aurangzeb to visit Iran, while the federal finance minister extended a reciprocal invitation to visit Islamabad.
