Pakistan’s Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) recorded sales of 1.48mn tons in Oct-26, down 1% YoY but up 10% MoM. This took 4MFY27 sales to 5.6mn tons, up 4% YoY mainly driven by an uptick in Furnace Oil (FO) sales.
Excluding FO, sales in Oct-26 stood at 1.38mn tons, down 6% YoY but up 10% MoM. This took 4MFY27 ex-FO sales to 5.2mn tons, down 2% YoY.
The MoM increase was mainly due to a rise in sales of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) as seasonal demand picked up.
Petrol sales declined 2% YoY and MoM to 642k tons. On the other hand, HSD volumes fell 7% YoY but increased 26% MoM to 662k tons due to seasonal demand.
Average Motor Spirit (MS) prices rose 46% YoY to Rs387/litre, while HSD prices increased 45% YoY to Rs396/litre.
FO sales are up 3.4x YoY and 2% MoM to 95k tons in Oct-26, mainly due to LNG shortages, which increased FO consumption in power generation.
