Punjab Forms Steering Committee for Pak-Saudi Economic Cooperation Framework

The Punjab government has established a Steering Committee for the Pak-Saudi Economic Cooperation Framework. The committee aims to ensure effective coordination for the investment framework with Saudi Arabia.

The Provincial Steering Committee will coordinate with federal ministries and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Punjab’s Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb will serve as the convener of the committee.

Other members include Chairman P&D Dr. Naeem Rauf, Additional Chief Secretary, and Senior Member Board of Revenue. The Secretary of Industries has been designated as both the secretary and member of the committee.

The committee will prepare provincial sectoral inputs and priority projects, developing ready investment proposals and a project pipeline for Saudi investment. It will finalize provincial priorities for investment sessions with Saudi Arabia, promote B2B interactions and investor readiness, and keep the Punjab government informed of its decisions.

Additionally, the committee will take steps to leverage “early harvest opportunities” under the Pak-Saudi cooperation framework.
