The Sindh cabinet has approved Rs 2.9 billion for the development of industrial areas in Karachi.
According to sources, while presiding over the provincial cabinet meeting, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the roads and drainage systems of all industrial areas in the city would be repaired. Reiterating the provincial government’s commitment to industrial development, he said that modern infrastructure is essential for economic stability.
He stated that the Sindh government would announce a separate package for the industrial estates in other parts of the province. The Industries Department is working on the development of industrial estates in other cities of the province, and as soon as the development plan is ready, the package will be announced.
The Chief Minister of Sindh also said that public hearings had been held in all 23 districts. During these public hearings, complaints were received regarding law and order, police, health facilities, municipal services, water supply (PHED), roads, irrigation, and education.
He instructed all departments to resolve the public complaints and submit a report. He ordered that public hearings will resume from the second week of January. The Chief Minister warned that if these complaints are not addressed, action will be taken against the responsible officials.
