State Bank of Pakistan Announces Bank Holiday on January 1

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced a public holiday on January 1, due to which all banks will remain closed for public transactions.

According to a notification issued by the State Bank, the Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for public dealings on Thursday, January 1, 2026, on account of a bank holiday.

The notification stated that on the said date, all banks, development and financial institutions, and microfinance banks will remain closed for public transactions.

However, the State Bank clarified that employees of banks, development and financial institutions, and microfinance banks will report to work as usual.
