Bangladesh Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan met Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu on Tuesday at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, including the possible purchase of JF 17 Thunder fighter jets. The meeting focused on further strengthening operational cooperation and institutional coordination, with special emphasis on training, capacity building, and cooperation in the aerospace sector.
The Bangladesh Air Force chief was presented with a guard of honor by the Pakistan Air Force. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu briefed his guest on the recent progress of the PAF and assured full support to the Bangladesh Air Force through a comprehensive training framework, ranging from basic to advanced flying and specialized courses. He also promised fast delivery of Super Mushshak training aircraft, complete training facilities, and long term support systems.
The Bangladesh Air Force chief, who is leading a high level defense delegation, praised the PAF’s combat record and expressed strong interest in benefiting from its operational expertise. He also showed interest in support for maintaining Bangladesh’s aging aircraft fleet and assistance in integrating air defense radar systems to improve air surveillance.
The delegation visited key Pakistan Air Force facilities, including the National ISR and Integrated Air Operations Center, the PAF Cyber Command, and the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, where they observed capabilities in ISR, cyber, space, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems.
The visit reflects the strong historical ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh and renews the commitment to deepen defense cooperation and build a long term strategic partnership.
