A prestigious ceremony was held in Karachi to mark the completion of 40 years of operations by Emirates Airline.
The event took place at Jinnah International Airport and was attended by the senior leadership of Emirates Airline and the Consul General of the UAE, Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi.
A documentary on Emirates Airline’s aircraft was screened on the occasion. Mohammed Al Hashimi, Vice President of Emirates, stated that Karachi was Emirates Airline’s first international destination.
Mohammed Al Hashimi added that the first flight arrived in Karachi in 1985. Emirates Airline operates from five cities in Pakistan, and Pakistan is one of Emirates Airline’s most important markets.
Speaking to the media at the event, UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi said that the UAE will make major investments in Pakistan in the coming months. He mentioned that measures regarding investments across various sectors are in their final stages.
He further added that to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Emirates Airline, a Premium Economy Class has also been introduced for passengers.
