Engro Fertilizers, Mari Energies sign MoU to improve farm productivity, support Communities

KARACHI: Mari Energies Limited and Engro Fertilizers Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to help farmers improve crop yields and incomes through better access to quality agricultural inputs and balanced nutrient use, alongside community development initiatives.

The collaboration will combine Mari Energies’ experience in community development across its areas of operation with Engro Fertilizers’ agricultural expertise. It establishes a framework for the companies to jointly plan, implement and review programmes for farmers and local communities.

Agricultural initiatives will focus on improving access to quality inputs and promoting informed nutrient management practices to support farm productivity and livelihoods.

The partnership will also cover education, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning, vocational training, youth employability, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. Sports, cultural and leadership programmes are also included in its scope.

Faheem Haider, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mari Energies Limited, said the agreement would build on the company’s existing community development work.

“Supporting the communities around our areas of operation has long been a priority for Mari Energies. This partnership with Engro Fertilizers allows us to build on that commitment by combining our community development experience with their agricultural expertise,” he said.

“Together, we aim to help farmers improve productivity and income through quality inputs and balanced nutrient use, while creating greater opportunities for communities through education, youth employability, healthcare and sports.”

The initiative builds on Mari Energies’ work in education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, and infrastructure. Through joint planning and programme reviews, the companies aim to deliver measurable outcomes and establish a long-term approach to community development in the areas they serve.
