The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) carried out a crackdown against human trafficking on Saturday, offloading and detaining several passengers attempting to travel illegally to Europe.
This operation comes shortly after Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured that passengers possessing complete travel documents would not be prevented from traveling, while those with incomplete or fraudulent documents would be strictly barred.
According to FIA sources, five Pakistani citizens — Waqar Anjum, Tayyab Iftikhar, Ali Shan, Malik Zaheer, and Malik Zeeshan — were intercepted at Lahore Airport while attempting to travel from Sharjah to the United Kingdom using fake visas. Authorities stated that these passengers had earlier traveled to Malaysia on valid visit visas earlier this year but later attempted to reach the UK using forged documents, allegedly obtained with the assistance of agents. Following their arrest, the individuals were transferred to the Lahore Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further investigation into the human trafficking network.
Meanwhile, at Islamabad Airport, the FIA’s Immigration Wing conducted a major operation, thwarting another attempt to travel to Europe using fraudulent documents. Ahmed Raza, attempting to board Flight PK-749 to France, was immediately detained during immigration clearance due to suspicious documents. Subsequent verification revealed that the Poland residence card he presented was fake. He was also transferred to the Islamabad Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal action.
