Menzies Aviation Shows Strong Interest in Expanding Operations in Pakistan

Global aviation services provider Menzies Aviation has expressed strong interest in expanding its operations in Pakistan.

According to sources, this development emerged during a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Menzies Aviation Chairperson Hassan Al Houri on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the aviation sector.

The discussion focused on improving airport services, operational efficiency, and exploring investment opportunities in line with Pakistan’s reform and privatization agenda. Muhammad Aurangzeb briefed Hassan Al Houri on progress related to privatization plans, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and outlined proposals to outsource operations at major airports such as Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. He highlighted that Pakistan’s economy is moving in a positive direction, creating a favorable environment for private sector investment and global partnerships.

Hassan Al Houri shared insights into Menzies Aviation’s global operations and its extensive experience in providing aviation services worldwide. He described Pakistan as an attractive destination for aviation-related business and investment, emphasized the strategic importance of Sialkot in aviation and logistics, and expressed Menzies Aviation’s interest in maintaining and expanding its cooperation with Pakistan. Sources added that both sides also discussed ways to improve airport service standards and enhance the overall passenger experience.

UK-based Menzies Aviation is a leading global aviation services company, providing key services to airlines at more than 350 airports across over 60 countries.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum annual meeting, Muhammad Aurangzeb also held several important meetings focused on advancing Pakistan’s economic reform agenda, strengthening international partnerships, and promoting investment-led growth. He met ADB President Masato Kanda, where they reviewed Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms and discussed ways to further deepen the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the meeting, the ADB President noted that Pakistan is entering a critical phase of economic transformation, with renewed momentum in reforms and growing market confidence. Muhammad Aurangzeb thanked the ADB President for continued support and guidance, and observed that Pakistan–ADB relations have entered a new and more strategic phase. He also briefed him on progress in structural reforms. Discussions included efforts to modernize Pakistan’s energy sector and advance sustainable and clean energy solutions.
