According to sources, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik is leading the Pakistani delegation at the Future Minerals Forum 2026 in Riyadh, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. On this occasion, Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik met with Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, where both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the mining and minerals sector.
Sources reported that the Saudi official appreciated Pakistan’s participation in the forum and emphasized that global attention is increasingly shifting towards mining and critical minerals. He expressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fully support the development of Pakistan’s mineral sector through its technical and scientific expertise. The Saudi minister also thanked Pakistan for its participation in the Future Minerals Forum.
Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik reaffirmed the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and highlighted Pakistan’s firm commitment to deepening cooperation. Speaking further, he stated that Pakistan’s Tethyan Belt has immense mineral potential, with the Reko Diq project representing just a small part of it. He added that the Geological Survey of Pakistan is working in collaboration with the Saudi Geological Survey to enable modern scientific exploration and development of mineral resources.
The federal minister also mentioned that sectors such as fertilizer production and medical equipment manufacturing offer important opportunities for joint projects between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which would benefit both countries.
During a pavilion visit, Bandar Ibrahim Al-Khorayef praised the efforts of the Pakistani team. Additionally, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki welcomed the Pakistani delegation and assured full support for Pakistan’s participation.
