According to sources, due to the strategic initiatives of the Sindh Industrial and Trading Facilitation Center (SIFC), Pakistan continues to advance toward the Central Asian trade markets. Significant progress has been made in meat exports to Tajikistan, marking a new developmental phase for Pakistan’s livestock sector.
Sources indicate that Pakistan will export 143,000 tons of halal meat to Tajikistan, with a total value of $14.5 million. Efficient trade facilitation is expected to expand bilateral trade to $300 million, thereby strengthening regional economic cooperation. The importance of direct flights, business, and tourism exchanges was also emphasized to enhance bilateral trade relations.
Considerable progress has also been made in educational cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the exchange of students and faculty members.
According to sources, Pakistan is establishing new economic trust and trade recognition in Central Asia through its livestock and halal food sector. Comprehensive facilitation by SIFC is providing Pakistan with new avenues in trade, investment, and public engagement in Central Asia. As a result of SIFC’s relentless efforts and business strategy, Pakistan’s meat exports have expanded from 9 countries to 13 countries.
It is worth noting that recently Pakistan and Brazil also agreed to further expand partnership and deepen cooperation in the livestock, dairy, and meat industry.
