Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during a meeting yesterday with a high level Libyan delegation.
According to sources, the Libyan delegation was led by Dr Osama Saad Hammad, Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, and included key figures such as Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al Qasim Haftar, Commander in Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces.
During the meeting, both sides discussed several matters of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and engagement. The discussions highlighted a shared desire to expand cooperation in areas aimed at promoting peace, stability, and development, at both regional and global levels.
The Libyan leadership praised Pakistan’s role in international affairs and expressed strong interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation. The talks concluded with both countries agreeing to maintain close contact and explore new opportunities for future collaboration.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present at the meeting.
