Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed on Friday (Today) for an official visit to Azerbaijan to further enhance cooperation in various sectors, including trade and investment.
According to the Foreign Office Spokesperson, the Prime Minister is undertaking the visit at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. During his visit, he will also participate in the events organized in Baku to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Victory Day.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the official Victory Day ceremonies and will also hold a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.
The two countries will review all aspects of bilateral relations and identify new opportunities to further enhance cooperation in various fields, including trade and investment, energy, defense, education, and regional connectivity.
According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy long-standing fraternal relations rooted in shared religion, history, culture, and mutual trust.
The Spokesperson added that both countries maintain close cooperation in regional and international forums, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the United Nations.
The Prime Minister’s visit will reaffirm Pakistan’s strong support for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will further advance the strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations.
