Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the establishment of offices and investment by Google in Pakistan.
This statement came as Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar inaugurated Pakistan’s first Google Chromebook assembly line in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Prime Minister said that the establishment of the assembly line for Google products in Haripur is a welcome development.
He stated that international IT companies like Google are expressing confidence in the government’s policies for ease of doing business and promoting investment in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the local manufacturing of IT products will make them affordable for the Pakistani people and will boost foreign exchange earnings through the development of the export industry for these products.
He stated that making Pakistan a digital economy is his government’s foremost priority.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the Federal Government is providing resources to one hundred thousand talented young people for growth in this sector by distributing laptops.
Shehbaz Sharif affirmed that efforts are underway to make Pakistan an Information Technology hub in the region.
