Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman to Visit White House, Discuss Strategic Cooperation with Trump

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman is set to visit the White House, where he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. The visit is considered a key step in deepening bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as oil, defense, trade, technology, and potentially civilian nuclear energy.

This marks the Crown Prince’s first visit to the U.S. since 2018, following the international outcry over the killing of Saudi critic Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.

According to sources, the meeting is expected to focus on strengthening traditional energy and defense agreements, while also discussing security guarantees from Saudi Arabia, access to artificial intelligence technologies, and progress on a civilian nuclear program.

President Trump is reportedly eager to leverage Saudi investment commitments, which were announced during his May visit to Saudi Arabia, totaling $600 billion. In addition, discussions are expected on defense deals, advanced computer chips, and nuclear energy cooperation.

Saudi Arabia is seeking security guarantees in light of regional crises, while the U.S. aims to deepen defense and economic ties with the kingdom. Analysts note that while some agreements may advance during the visit, both sides are unlikely to achieve all their objectives immediately, and progress will be gradual.

For Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, the visit is also important for economic diversification and for strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position relative to regional rivals.
