SpaceX has launched 28 additional Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit.
According to reports, SpaceX said in a news release that the satellites were sent aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, at around 9:58 a.m. local time.
The company added in the release that this was the 12th flight for the first-stage booster supporting this mission. The booster had previously launched NROL-126, Transporter-12, SphericalX, NROL-57, and now eight Starlink missions.
Sources say that after stage separation, the first-stage booster landed on a drone ship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
The company noted that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may have heard one or more sonic booms during the launch, though the experience would depend on weather and other conditions.
