SPEL Limited Launches 575 kW Solar Project, Boosting Total Renewable Capacity to 4.1 MW

SPEL Limited, formerly known as Synthetic Products Enterprises Limited, has successfully launched a 575-kilowatt (kW) solar power project, increasing the company’s total renewable energy capacity to 4.1 megawatts.

The company announced this development in a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The notice stated: “We are pleased to announce another milestone in our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. SPEL has successfully commissioned a 575 kW solar power project, which further enhances our already installed 3.55 MW of green energy capacity. This brings our total solar capacity to a level where we can meet approximately 24% to 29% of our annual electricity needs through clean and green renewable energy. This achievement highlights our commitment to sustainability and a cleaner, greener Pakistan.”

SPEL is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of plastic auto parts, plastic packaging for the food and FMCG sector, as well as molds and dies.

Renewable energy adoption—particularly solar power—is rapidly gaining momentum in Pakistan and has become increasingly popular in both residential and commercial sectors.

It is worth noting that last July, Pakistani textile company JK Spinning Mills Limited also announced plans to install an additional 7 MW of solar power capacity as part of its strategic initiatives.
